For more than three decades, Steve Tobias, MHR, dedicated his career to serving the public sector, overseeing the Detective and Internal Affairs Bureaus for a Los Angeles County police department. Retiring from his position as Lieutenant, he founded Tobias Consulting & Investigations, LLC in 2019. Steve's wealth of experience as a skilled law enforcement investigator has enabled him to develop one of the most successful Criminal Defense Investigation firms in the Mountain Region.
Our firm specializes in delivering first-rate, customized investigative services to law firms and private clients in need of aggressive criminal defense investigations across Colorado, California and Utah. All of our investigators hold valid licenses and insurance coverage.
Steve boasts extensive expertise in various fields, such as criminal defense, civil litigation, and workplace misconduct investigations. He earned a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University.
Steve is a proud alumnus of the Police Executive Research Forum, Senior Management Institute for Police program, Boston University. He has received numerous accolades, including the South Bay Medal of Valor Award and recognition as Police Officer of the Year and City Employee of the Year. He has also been nominated for the United States Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor award.
